Material Handler

**Job Summary:** | Under the direct supervision of the Security and Safety Supervisor, performs various housekeeping and facilities functions. These include but are not limited to: Disposing of trash and cardboard, running sweeper/scrubber in warehouse, assisting with facilities related tasks and performing assigned special projects. This position requires lifting and the safe operation of equipment. | | --- | **Duties and Responsibilities:** *(% increments must be no less than 5%)* | **% of Time Spent** | **Primary Duties & Responsibilities** | | --- | --- | | **60%** | **Housekeeping, trash, cardboard recycling.** | | **15%** | **Required to operate sweeper/scrubber and material handling equipment.** | | **10%** | **Facility tasks.** | | **5%** | **Maintain a clean, safe and productive work environment** | | **5%** | **Back up picking in warehouse when needed.** | | **5 %** | **Other duties as assigned** | **Minimum Position Qualifications:** | Experience | 2 + years work experience in facilities/maintenance and custodial/housekeeping. Must be certified to operate all equipment and be able to pass certification tests. | | --- | --- | | **Education Level** | High school diploma or GED. . | | **Position Requirements** | Must be able lift up to 70 lbs. Ability to use scanner systems effectively with minimal errors Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed Ability to meet and maintain a set level of accuracy and efficiency. Good verbal/written communication skills, basic math skills and ability to read Material handling equipment experience is a plus – required to pass certification test Strong team player and the ability to get along with co-workers All tasks to be done in a manner that are in keeping with the overall performance goals of -safety – accuracy – productivity – attendance - teamwork |
