## Description **Job Summary** Support the daily operations of The Thoreau Club's Spa Services Department by providing professional massage therapy. This hybrid position includes approximately 10-15 hours of hands-on massage therapy. This role requires flexibility and at least one weekend day, as well as two evening shifts of work each week. **Key Responsibilities** **Massage Therapy Services** - Provide professional, high-quality massage therapy to members and guests. - Conduct thorough client intake to identify goals, medical conditions or contraindications. - Deliver effective 30, 60, or 90 minute massage sessions tailored to client needs. - Suggest appropriate aftercare recommendations following each session. - Promote repeat business by encouraging rebooking and distributing business cards. - Maintain professional appearance, demeanor, and adherence to all of The Thoreau Club's standards. - Maintain your schedule by booking clients and checking them in and out. **Sales and Member Engagement** - Actively promote and sell massage therapy services through personal outreach and member engagement. - Support The Thoreau Club's culture of hospitality by providing exceptional service and building lasting client relationships. - Participate in Club as needed to increase visibility and awareness of Spa services. **Operations** - Maintain treatment rooms and restock supplies as needed - Follow sanitation and safety standards, reporting any housekeeping or maintenance issues to the Spa manager. - Arrive punctually for all scheduled shifts and communicate promptly about emergencies or absences. - Check email daily for departmental updates, shift changes, or required training. **Professional Standards** - Maintain current Massachusetts Massage Therapy License and insurance. - Attend mandatory meetings and participate in department and club events. - Complete all required annual training, including but not limited to: - Emergency Response Protocol (bi-annually) - Workplace Harassment Prevention - Cyber Security Awareness - Bloodborne Pathogens **Physical Requirements** - Ability to stand, walk, and perform massage services for extended periods. - Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. - Must communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. - Must work at least one weekend day per week and maintain flexibility for business needs.
