**Job Description – Marketing Assistant** **Mission Contribution** This position supports the Marketing Department in increasing awareness of the mission of Alabama Goodwill Industries within the community for the purpose of increasing donors, transactions, and community engagement to further our mission of helping people overcome employment barriers and achieve self-sufficiency. **Function** Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Fundraising, the Marketing Assistant provides administrative and project support for the Marketing Department while gaining hands-on experience in marketing, communications, branding, and community engagement. This role assists with the creation and distribution of marketing materials, social media content, events, and marketing campaigns while learning the day-to-day responsibilities of a marketing professional. This position is designed as a developmental role with the opportunity to grow into a Marketing Specialist position as skills and experience are gained. **Specific Duties** - Assist with the creation, editing, and organization of marketing materials while ensuring compliance with Alabama Goodwill branding standards. - Support the planning, execution, and tracking of marketing campaigns across digital, print, social media, and community outreach channels. - Assist with creating marketing collateral, including flyers, brochures, newsletters, presentations, store signage, and promotional materials. - Help coordinate the distribution of marketing materials to stores, donation centers, and community events. - Assist with maintaining the organization's website and social media platforms by updating content under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Fundraising. - Support the planning and execution of special events, fundraising activities, community partnerships, and corporate events. - Assist with gathering campaign results and basic marketing metrics to help evaluate effectiveness. - Conduct basic research on community events, marketing trends, and partnership opportunities. - Coordinate marketing requests and assist with organizing projects to ensure deadlines are met. - Work collaboratively with Operations, Mission Services, Retail, and external vendors to support marketing initiatives. - Maintain organized digital files, marketing assets, and project documentation. - Participate in training opportunities to develop marketing, branding, and communications skills. - Perform other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities** - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. - Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. - Familiarity with social media platforms. - Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other graphic design software is preferred but not required. - Willingness to learn marketing, branding, and project management. - Positive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. **Minimum Requirements** - Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred. Relevant work experience may be substituted. - Previous administrative, customer service, communications, retail, or marketing experience preferred. - No prior marketing experience is required; training will be provided. **Special Requirements** - Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends for community events. - May require travel to AGI stores, donation centers, and community events. - Must possess a valid driver's license, appropriate insurance coverage, and reliable transportation.
