Marine Technician Full-Time | Traverse City, MI Irish Boat Shop, Inc. Irish Boat Shop a family-owned and operated business that has served Northern Michigan for over 65 years. Our team in Traverse City is small, friendly, and hardworking. We are a service-first operation, which has resulted in generations of loyal customers. We represent premium brands including Boston Whaler, Nautique, and Chaparral. We primarily service Mercury, PCM, Yamaha, and Volvo Penta, but will work on most Outboard, I/O, and Inboard engines. **Responsibilities:** Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues. Perform routine maintenance on boats and engines Winterize engines properly to ensure freeze protection. Shrink wrap boats. Repower vessels. Operate boats of various sizes and engine configurations, trucks with trailers, a tractor, and forklift. Maintain a safety-first mindset and use proper PPE. Utilize manufacturers’ technical support services. Obtain and maintain a valid chauffeur license within 90 days of hire. Keep an accurate record work performed and parts used, and enter notes into software. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Interact with customers and co-workers in a professional, friendly manner. **Qualifications and Requirements:** Preferred 5+ years as a marine technician. Team-oriented mindset. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges. Pride in craftsmanship and attention to detail. Current certifications, particularly in Mercury/MerCruiser and ABYC are preferred. Pride in craftsmanship and attention to detail. Skill operating a computer and using diagnostic software. Skill in troubleshooting complex integrated systems and electronics. Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions, when needed. Ability to climb ladders and stairs, to lift up to 50 pounds consistently, and to get on/off boats of varying sizes. Willingness to help out where needed. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
