Everforth ECS is seeking ***Marine Drafter (AutoCAD)*** to work ***remotely. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.*** We are seeking detail-oriented Marine Drafters to join our engineering and design team. In this role, you will be responsible for translating engineering concepts and field data into accurate 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings. You will work closely with naval architects, production teams, and project managers to ensure that all vessel systems, structural components, and marine fabrications are drafted to engineering specifications. There are several positions available covering different technical disciplines. Typical duties and responsibilities include: - **CAD Drafting & Design**: Develop detailed mechanical, structural, electrical, and outfitting CAD drawings for marine components and vessel layouts using AutoCAD. - **Design Implementation**: Translate preliminary sketches, engineering calculations, and field measurements into production-ready schematics and manufacturing drawings. - **Regulatory Compliance**: Ensure all drawings and designs adhere to marine industry classification standards (e.g., ABS, USCG, ISO). - **System Detailing**: Draft designs for ship subsystems, piping, HVAC, hull structures, and/or dock/waterfront systems. - **Documentation Management**: Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), part numbers, and revision control documents. - **Collaboration**: Review drawing packages with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability, efficiency, and clarity. - **Site / Ship Checks**: Occasionally visit active shipyards and/or waterfront sites to verify existing configurations, take measurements, and update "as-built" documentation. - Some level of travel may be required. - **Education**: Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Drafting, or a related technical field is preferred, but not required. - **Experience**: 2+ years of drafting experience in a mechanical, shipbuilding, or marine manufacturing environment. - **Software**: Proven, hands-on proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting using AutoCAD. Familiarity with complementary software (e.g., ShipConstructor, Rhino, Navisworks) is highly desirable. - **Industry Knowledge**: Solid understanding of marine engineering principles, structural fabrication, and drafting standards. Ability to organize and maintain Layers within AutoCAD drawings is also required. - **Skills**: Excellent print-reading skills, high spatial reasoning, and meticulous attention to detail. - **Communication & Problem Solving**: Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proven track record of communicating clearly with engineering leadership and waterfront trades. The ability to work independently but maintain strong coordination with the team is also required. **Clearance**: Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
