Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Location: Houston, TX preferred (Hybrid in office with Field-Based travel) Travel: requires approximately 50% travel to manufacturing sites, domestic and international Reports To: VP of Quality About: On.Energy is a fully integrated energy storage developer, technology company, and asset owner delivering advanced, utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) that support the renewable energy transition. Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, improving and tracking manufacturing processes that support safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role works closely with production, quality, supply chain, and design engineering teams to optimize workflows, troubleshoot process issues, support new product introduction, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities · Analyze production flow, line performance, labor utilization, and equipment layout to improve efficiency and reduce waste. · Monitor supplier plan-versus-actual production output and identify gaps that may impact delivery, capacity, or schedule commitments. · Assess procurement and material readiness to support mass production start, including part availability, supplier ramp plans, and supply continuity risks. · Perform day-to-day validation of supply chain execution, including material flow, shortages, open issues, and readiness to meet production demand. · Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions. · Support new product introduction, pilot builds, process validation, and ramp-up activities. · Partner with design engineering to improve manufacturability, assembly methods, and process robustness. · Monitor process capability, yield, cycle time, scrap, and other operational metrics to drive performance improvements. · Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. · Maintain a dotted-line working relationship with Category Managers to align supplier performance, sourcing priorities, capacity readiness, and escalation actions. · Track supplier internal KPIs such as production throughput, quality performance, first-pass yield, and output stability to identify trends and drive corrective actions. Minimum Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. · Experience in a manufacturing, production, or process engineering environment. · Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, process control, tooling, and production systems. · Experience with root cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement methods. · Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and process documentation. · Strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills. Preferred Qualifications · Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies. · Knowledge of CAD tools, ERP/MRP systems, and manufacturing data analysis tools. · Experience supporting equipment qualification, process validation, or production scale-up. · Familiarity with automation, fixtures, ergonomics, and plant layout optimization. · Industry experience in electro-mechanical, energy, automotive, electronics, or industrial manufac…
