SFAF’s Health Services for People Who Use Drugs is one of largest syringe access and disposal, overdose prevention, and health engagement programs in the State of California. The Manager, PWUD Health Services & Overdose Prevention Education will handle complex administrative analysis, systems development, as well as daily operations of overdose prevention and education, and naloxone distribution. This role will manage a team of staff and volunteers who operate our sixth street location and mobile sites. This position is a crucial part of our PWUD Health Team as it provides direct client facing services while providing team support and guidance to ensure participants continue receiving top quality overdose prevention and education services. What are the main responsibilities? Provide onsite daily support and capacity building to teams staffing the 6th street center and mobile sites – ensuring all SOPs, policies, and workflows are followed by staff and volunteers. Analyze operational needs, develop systems, and create processes, workflows, and communications to support smooth operations program wide. Provide overdose prevention, recognition, and response training for SFAF staff, volunteers, and outside partners. Ensure work environments are healthy and conducive to effective work, including monitoring and ordering supplies, assessing staff and participant flow and use of space, and communicating facilities needs, safety issues, repairs and furniture needs. Ensure correct documentation and entry of all site data, implementing quality assurance efforts to ensure the team completes data collection in a timely manner. Provide treatment connections and health education to participants utilizing proactive motivational interviewing. Who are we looking for? Minimum three years' experience working with People Who Use Drugs and knowledge of substance use and health concerns facing this community. Associates Degree preferred, experience using motivational interviewing and strong understanding of client centered and trauma informed practices and principles, experience doing linkage to care and health education required. Knowledge of health and social services in San Francisco and ability to speak candidly and knowledgeably about drug use, substance use treatment, and sexual health. Staff supervision and management experience required. Preferably with time card and PTO management experience. Ability to implement de-escalation techniques, follow safely protocols, and use sound judgment in making independent decisions. Organizational skills, able to utilize Google and Microsoft suite of programs, data entry and ability to organize, analyze, develop, and track complex business and operations systems and spreadsheets. Proof of valid CA driver's license and excellent driving record required. Where is the position located? This position is primarily located at 117 6 th street, 940 Howard, and in the field at mobile sites , San Francisco, however it may occasionally require traveling to other office locations or off-site meetings as required by the job.
