## Description **About the Role** Join our Team! The City of Kentwood is seeking a **Manager on Duty** to support our Parks & Recreation Department on an irregular part-time basis. In this role, you’ll help oversee daily recreation facility operations while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all visitors. You’ll serve as a key point of contact during facility hours—supporting programs and events, assisting patrons, and ensuring operations run smoothly. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, takes initiative, and thrives in a fast-paced, community-focused environment. * * * ## **What You’ll Do** - Supervise daily recreation facility operations and ensure safe, appropriate use of all spaces - Open and close facilities following established procedures - Provide excellent customer service to patrons in person, by phone, and via email - Assist with registrations, memberships, reservations, and payments - Support programs and events, including setup and teardown of equipment and spaces - Conduct routine walkthroughs to monitor cleanliness, safety, and maintenance needs - Perform basic custodial tasks to maintain a clean and organized facility - Handle cash transactions and complete daily financial balancing - Enforce facility policies and respond to incidents, accidents, and emergencies - Serve as a point of contact for participants, volunteers, and community groups - Complete reports such as attendance logs, incident reports, and daily activity records * * * ## **About You** You’re dependable, observant, and customer-focused, with the ability to take initiative and manage responsibilities independently.
