[SC00] Reporting to the Vice President, External Affairs, the Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility will lead FirstEnergy’s Corporate Responsibility strategy and initiatives, demonstrating value from an environmental, social, and governance (ESG) perspective to our internal and external stakeholders. This involves corporate-wide, cross-department interaction to encourage thoughtful discussion, development of initiatives, responsive disclosures/reporting, and successful execution of initiatives Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Strategy Development & Implementation: You will lead the development and effective implementation of FirstEnergy’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. - Project Leadership & Management: You will independently lead and manage complex CSR projects from conception through to execution, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes. This includes defining project scope, setting objectives, managing resources, and mitigating risks. Of note, you will manage the development, management and successful completion of the annual Corporate Social Responsibility Report. - Data Analysis & Strategic Reporting: You will oversee the collection, in-depth analysis, and strategic reporting on key CSR metrics and data, utilizing insights to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement. - Internal Engagement & Communication Leadership: - You will lead and champion internal communications and engagement efforts, developing innovative strategies to raise awareness and promote CSR best practices among employees at all levels. - You will develop and elaborate, compelling communication materials, presentations, and content for various internal platforms, effectively conveying CSR messages and initiatives to employees and stakeholders, in collaboration with the Communications, Investor Relations, and Environmental Teams. - Research, Benchmarking & Innovation: You will proactively conduct advanced research on emerging CSR, particularly sustainability, trends, regulations, and best practices, translating these insights into actionable recommendations to enhance FirstEnergy’s approach and drive innovation. - Process Optimization & Innovation: You will independently identify, develop, and implement opportunities for significant process improvements and innovative solutions within CSR initiatives. - Compliance & Risk Management: You will ensure and oversee full compliance with relevant environmental, social, and equity regulations and internal policies, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks. Profile The ideal candidate will possess: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. - Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in Corporate Social Responsibility, preferably within a corporate environment.
