Our organization is looking to partner with compassionate caregivers who display professionalism and advocacy for our clients. The job itself can be challenging, but also rewarding, as our clients are most appreciative of the services they receive. We assist the developmentally disabled, the aged, the injured and provide quality assistance to those entrusted to our care. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) we are looking for is compassionate and enduring and can articulate well with other staff and most importantly the clients we serve. As DSP, you should be able to follow instructions and complete a range of task to assist clients. Responsibilities Help clients take prescribed medication Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.) Assist clients with personal care and hygiene Help clients with physical therapy exercises Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able) Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own Be a pleasant and supportive companion Report any unusual incidents Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency Skills Proven experience as a caregiver Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR) We will provide vendor information if you’re not currently certified. Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards Respectful and compassionate Good time management skills Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Strong ethics Drivers License wanted but not required Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $15.00 - $17 per hour Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Benefits: - 401(k) - Flexible schedule - Referral program Work Location: In person
