The Role The purpose of this position is to install, repair and maintain facilities equipment and systems including the physical facility Provides courier services for all Miami site facilities To ensure volunteer safety at all times including the following of social distancing practices and procedures Assists with other administrative support functions or projects as needed To comply & adhere to GCP guidelines and regulations as required of this role Main Tasks and Responsibilities Maintenance of all exterior buildings and grounds to include parking lots, gates and fencing, sidewalks, guard house and patio/recreation area Troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical fixtures and devices, doors and hardware, HVAC equipment and systems and plumbing fixtures/devices Responsible for cleaning stairwell areas, electrical rooms, elevator rooms, heater room’s washer/dryer rooms, stool room, air conditioning rooms, and changing of air filters according to maintenance schedule Reading of mechanical and electrical drawings/schematics Completing documentation to meet regulatory and company requirements This position includes direct supervision of equipment/service vendors and trade contractors, as necessary, in the execution of their assigned duties Assist the clinical staff with preparation of floor space for subject use and transport subject baggage to the designated floor after the contents have been inspected by the housekeeping staff Will distribute received supplies and equipment to the appropriate floor, facility, and/or personnel Responsible for monitoring pest control services in the interior/exterior areas of the building, to include all floors, stairwells, closets, balconies and common areas Deliver correspondence, equipment and supplies to the Executive Office and Clinical Studies Center and will serve as a courier between all Miami sites Pick up meals form culinary vendors daily as needed Purchase meal supplies and paper goods on a weekly basis or as often as necessary Clean water pans on all food and specimen refrigerators and replace filters on all specimen freezers according to the maintenance schedule Assist housekeeping during deep cleaning of units, kitchens and other areas as necessary Pick up samples as sent from Quotient Sciences Screening and transport to the lab Appropriately handle biological specimens during transport Assists with any other duties as assigned Job Demands The job may involve the following: Very high concentration of work Interacts with volunteers and escalates issue to appropriate management personnel Strict and tight deadlines Having to juggle a range of tasks/issues simultaneously Working in a hazardous environment with high requirement to follow safety procedures Occasionally exposed to inclement weather such as direct sunlight, rain, wind and/or humid conditions. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time • Requires the ability to climb ladders and/or work from elevated platforms The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds On call and/or working outside normal working hours The Candidate High School Diploma or GED (minimum) Ability to read English and communicate basic requests/responses in English/Spanish Current Florida Driver’s License Basic computer competency or skills (e.g. logging in, accessing browser, navigating web pages) Minimum of three (3) years of performing corrective/preventative maintenance activities for equipment and utilities Basic mathematics and geometry Must be able to utilize technical documentation (e.g. - manuals, specifications, drawings, etc.) to complete assigned maintenance activities. Ability to work independently as well as with others in a team environment Ability to communicate effectively with management personnel
