The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring equipment/machinery is functioning properly and performing routine preventative maintenance of equipment system prioritizing work based on need. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform routine adjustments and calibrations to machinery and will follow up with a Production Technician on any diagnostics needed to perform a needed repair. **Specific Responsibilities:** - Receives instructions or participates in team decisions regarding scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection tasks. - Inspects plant equipment for defects such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc. and repairs such defects. - Dismantles, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, adjusts, and lubricates all plant mechanical equipment and machinery. - Performs preventive maintenance tasks to maximize effectiveness of plant equipment. - Perform precision maintenance duties. - Ability to troubleshoot, repair, install, etc. hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. - Keeps work area in a neat and orderly condition and performs all work in a safe and efficient manner. - Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor. - Cleans all work areas. **Qualifications:** - High School diploma or G.E.D. and minimum of 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic and/or successful completion of an apprenticeship program or a vocational course of study related to industrial maintenance at a recognized vocational institution. - Requires interpersonal skills in dealing with coworkers, contractors and vendors, mechanical aptitude. - Strong mechanical aptitude. - Industrial manufacturing maintenance experience - Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds. - Must be a self-starter and have excellent troubleshooting skills. - Knowledge of safety policies and procedures (e.g., lock out/tag out) etc.
