Machining Operator (2nd Shift)

Job Title: Machining Operator Reports to: Director of Production Engineering Location: San Marcos, Texas We have one goal: to manufacture quality magnets! About this role: A machining operator should be able to diligently follow procedures and meticulously prep material for feeding and extraction in semi-automated machining operations. What You’ll Be Doing: - Setting up machines to start a production cycle. - Determining the fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications and mount them to machine prior to beginning cutting. - Feeding raw material or parts to semi-automated machines. - Bonding magnetic components in specific orientations to a range of substrates. - Inspecting parts with precision measuring tools. - Inspecting finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and uphold company reputation. - Maintaining machine production logs. - Performing daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including but not limited to lubrication, cleaning, as well as coolant and tool replacement. - Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. - Other Duties as assigned. We are looking for someone who: - Pays attention to detail. - Is self-motivated. - Possesses a high school diploma or GED equivalent. - Has experience with use of calipers, micrometers, indicators, set up blocks as well as a variety of gauges. - Has a willingness to help and fill in wherever needed. - Is able to provide clear and concise communication across multiple platforms. - Possesses strong analytical, communication and computer skills. Physical Requirements: - Must be able to pass a drug screening, medical physical and, if applicable, visual testing. - Able to move up to 50lbs. - Possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately. - Can wear PPE. - Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes. - Is capable of making repetitive movements including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting and walking up and down stairs.
