**Machining & Mechanical Assembly Technician** **Location:** Quad – CR/T Roller Operations Facility, Sussex, WI **Pay:** **$20.00–$25.00 / hour**, based on relevant experience, skills, and work history **Schedule:** - **Day Shift** - **Monday–Friday** - Overtime available as business needs require **Paid Training:** Learn a specialized manufacturing trade with hands-on training provided. **Experience Preferred:** Candidates with experience in machining, mechanical assembly, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or mechanical repair are encouraged to apply. At Quad's **CR/T Roller Operations** team in Sussex, WI, you'll help rebuild and manufacture the precision rubber rollers used throughout Quad's nationwide printing operations. This is a unique opportunity to learn a specialized manufacturing trade while working with precision machining equipment in a stable, team-oriented environment. **Position Summary** Quad is seeking a **Machining & Mechanical Assembly Technician** to join our Roller Operations team. In this role, you'll rebuild, refurbish, and manufacture precision rubber rollers that support Quad's printing facilities across the country. Through paid, hands-on training, you'll learn specialized machining, grinding, mechanical assembly, and inspection processes while developing valuable technical skills with opportunities for long-term career growth. **What You'll Do** - Receive and schedule roller refurbishment orders from Quad manufacturing facilities. - Remove bearings and inspect roller components for wear and damage. - Operate stripping lathes to remove worn rubber from rollers. - Build rollers using specialized rubber application equipment. - Grind, machine, and polish rollers to precise specifications. - Paint, assemble, package, and prepare finished rollers for shipment. - Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, dial indicators, and tape measures. - Read blueprints and perform basic mathematical calculations. - Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. - Learn to safely operate a variety of industrial machinery and lathes. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. - Follow all company safety policies and procedures. - Perform other duties as assigned. **What We're Looking For** - Mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn a specialized manufacturing trade. - Previous experience in machining, mechanical assembly, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, or related fields is preferred. - Candidates with a strong work history and relevant machining or mechanical assembly experience may qualify for higher starting pay. - Experience operating machine tools, lathes, grinders, or similar equipment is a plus. - Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment is preferred. - Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English to safely perform job duties, follow work instructions, and communicate effectively with team members. - Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Windows applications. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Forklift experience or willingness to become certified. - High school diploma or GED preferred. - Ability to lift 50 pounds or more. **Why Quad CR/T?** At Quad's **CR/T Roller Operations** team, you'll do more than manufacture components—you'll help support the equipment that keeps Quad's printing operations running across North America.
