Machine Operator l, 1st Shift

New employees can potentially earn $52k in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50-hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses. There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives. Position is full-time with benefits! Machine Operator, 1st Shift Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM plus over time, including some Saturdays. SUMMARY Perform machine shop and roll forming press operations on the production floor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Operate machinery according to standard operating procedures. - Monitor production output and quality to meet specifications. - Maintain a clean and organized work area. - Adhere to safety protocols. - Assist with finished products by using banders to bundle finished products. - May operate forklift or crane. - Assist with Break Press operations. - Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. - Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required. - Frequent communication with others to exchange information. - Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. - Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. - Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. - Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. - Constantly thinking and processing information. - Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks. QUALIFICATIONS - High school diploma, GED or equivalent. - Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting preferred. - Basic knowledge of the English language - Ability to read measurements accurately. - Basic math skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Standing for most of shift - Frequent walking, using hands and fingers to handle objects, tools and controls. - Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching - Frequent use of close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and able to adjust focus. - Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
