Adair County residents can have peace of mind knowing they will receive excellent care close to home. ## Description **Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Med-Surg & Emergency Department PRN** Adair County Health System (ACHS) is seeking compassionate, skilled Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our Medical-Surgical and Emergency Department teams on a PRN basis. What You’ll Do - Provide nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse - Assist with patient assessments, care plans, and evaluation of patient responses - Deliver total patient care including hygiene, ambulation, and elimination needs - Educate patients and families as directed by the RN - Initiate and assist with emergency support measures (Basic Life Support required) - Support ER patient care as a second assist when needed - Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records - Ensure patient confidentiality and professional, courteous interactions - Maintain a safe work environment by following OSHA standards and universal precautions - Assist with equipment setup, maintenance, and supply management - Monitor coworker workload and provide assistance as needed - Participate in staff education, orientation, and mandatory meetings - Float to other departments as needed with appropriate orientation - Support outpatient services when requested (e.g., SC, CR, SLS) - Adhere to hospital safety, risk management, and quality improvement policies ## Requirements - Current **Iowa LPN license** in good standing - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - Strong communication and decision-making skills - Ability to remain calm, professional, and focused in a fast-paced environment - Willingness to assist across departments and adapt to changing priorities
