Literacy Development and Intervention Coordinator JobID: 20601 Position Type: ProTech (Certified) Date Posted: 7/16/2026 Location: OKCPS Central Office Additional Information: Show/Hide Literacy Development and Intervention Coordinator Position Summary: Provide leadership and guidance in literacy acquisition to ensure students' instructional needs are met and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Work collaboratively with district- and site-level staff in implementing, utilizing, and making educationally appropriate decisions regarding student instruction and evidence-based interventions. Essential Duties: Great Teaching and Learning (Instructional Infrastructure): Develop and facilitate professional development for interventionists and other school personnel. Meet regularly with interventionists or campus-based instructional leaders for professional development, planning, and support. Great People (Talent Management): Assist teachers with maximizing the effective use of district adopted instructional resources. Continues professional growth through self-directed, as well as defined professional development opportunities, which may include additional training, professional learning communities, outside research, and reading professional literature. Great Culture (Systems Leaders): Develop, implement, and monitor the literacy plan for the district. Establish and maintain a productive communication link with site administrators to provide support regarding the literacy curriculum, methodologies, effective use of assessment data, and evaluation of current reading instruction. Great Systems (Support & Accountability): Ensure district compliance with the Oklahoma Reading Sufficiency Act (RSA) instruction and documentation requirements through development of implementation guidelines, ongoing training of teachers and administrators, and provision of on-site support to schools.Prepares or oversees the preparation of all required reports, accreditation, and maintains appropriate records. Review data and plan action strategies that utilize scientifically-based research on reading strategies and assessments that address both current and future instructional needs. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required): Master's degree in reading, literacy, English, curriculum and instruction, or a related education field Valid Oklahoma teaching or administrative certificate Five (5) years teaching experience in literacy at the elementary level (teaching experience at both the elementary and secondary levels as well as additional experience in instructional leadership is preferred) In-depth knowledge of best practices and current research in standards, curriculum, instructional practices and strategies, and a well-balanced assessment system Strong articulation, with exceptional oral and written communication skills, and the ability to adjust depending on the audience Promote a positive climate and culture for learning Flexible thinker and willingness to accept new ideas and constructive feedback for personal, professional, and program growth and development Takes initiative, detailed oriented, and is highly organized Capable of working independently and prioritize tasks in a team-oriented and collaborative environment Possesses strong leadership traits with the ability to lead people and provide direction Possess a valid driver's license and availability of private transportation to travel to sites C…
