## Lifeguard **Wild Waves Theme & Waterpark** ### Position Summary Lifeguards at Wild Waves Theme & Waterpark are responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety and guest service across all water attractions. This role helps create a fun, welcoming, and safety-conscious environment while ensuring the well-being of guests at all times. No prior lifeguard experience is required—**training and certification are provided by Wild Waves at no cost**. * * * ### Skills, Requirements & Qualifications - Must be **16 years of age or older** - No prior lifeguard experience required - Must successfully complete **Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training**, which includes written and physical components - Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with guests, coworkers, and management - Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain alert in a fast-paced environment - Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays **Important Training Requirement:** - All applicants who move forward in the hiring process are required to participate in a **3-day unpaid training session** to earn their **Ellis & Associates Lifeguard License**, provided **free of charge** by Wild Waves. Applicants must successfully pass the test at the end of the class to continue moving forward in the hiring process. * * * ### General Duties & Responsibilities **Guest Service** - Provide friendly, helpful, and professional service to guests - Follow all guest service standards and code of conduct guidelines outlined in the Team Member Handbook **Safety** - Support Wild Waves’ safety-first culture by maintaining constant vigilance and enforcing all safety rules **Teamwork** - Work collaboratively with fellow lifeguards and leadership to support park operations **Cleanliness** - Maintain clean and organized work areas, including water attractions, walkways, and back-of-house spaces * * * ### Specific Duties & Responsibilities - **Water Safety:** Monitor guests at all times, control the number of riders on attractions, dispatch slides, enforce safety rules, and execute preventative safety measures - **Rescue & First Aid:** Provide first-responder care as needed, including CPR, the Heimlich maneuver, spinal rescues, and in-water rescues - **Certification Maintenance:** Maintain an active Ellis & Associates Lifeguard License through regular in-service training and participation in Ellis audits - **Guest Assistance:** Answer guest questions regarding park operations, water safety, and directions - **Cleanliness:** Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned aquatic areas and workspaces - **Other Duties:** Perform additional duties as assigned based on department and park needs * * * ### Physical Demands & Work Environment - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods - Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching - Occasional sitting, climbing, or balancing - Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently - Ability to **swim and perform physical rescues** as required by the Ellis & Associates training program - Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus - Work is primarily outdoors and subject to varying weather conditions - Noise levels may range from moderate to high **Reasonable accommodations may be provided to support team members in performing the essential functions of this position.**
