Lifeguard- Full-time and Part-time **JOB SUMMARY:** The Lifeguard provides a safe and friendly environment at the beach and pool area. **** **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES** and other duties as may be assigned related to this position. Patrols and ensures the safety of all Members and their guests at the pool, ocean and beach area. Supervises and observes swimmers at all times to ensure their safety Recognizes and responds effectively to emergency situations in accordance with facility emergency action plans Provides general cleaning of the beach and pool area and straightens chairs at the pool and beach area. Enforces rules of conduct at the pool and beach Prepares pool and beach for daily use Checks first aid supplies and reports needed items to supervisor Informs supervisor about unresolved Member or guest disruptions that could cause a safety problem Sets up and tears down flags, safety equipment and umbrellas at the pool, beach. Completes accident and incident reports as needed. Stays fit and healthy and completes assigned workouts. Ability to swim laps and dive to bottom of pool Wears proper uniform and maintains a high standard regarding personal appearance as outlined in the employee handbook **EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:** High School diploma or GED. Employee must effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Excellent people skills are essential. **CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:** The employee must have current Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate, American Red Cross Basic First Aid required, Current CPR/AED card.
