This position requires a balance of vigilance and teaching ability, as the instructor/lifeguard will monitor the pool area for any potential hazards while simultaneously leading lessons for individuals or groups. The ultimate goal is to foster a safe and enjoyable environment where participants can learn essential swimming skills and water safety practices. Additionally, the Instructor/Lifeguard will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the aquatic facility. This role is vital in promoting a culture of safety and health within the community through effective education and supervision. CP offer training for this role. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Experience in teaching swimming lessons. - Additional certifications in water safety or coaching. - Experience working with diverse age groups and abilities. - Current Lifeguard Certification from a recognized organization. - Current CPR and First Aid Certification. **Responsibilities:** - Monitor the safety of all pool users and enforce facility rules and regulations. - Provide swimming instruction to individuals and groups of varying skill levels. - Perform rescues and administer first aid or CPR as necessary. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area and equipment. - Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions to ensure preparedness. **Skills:** The required skills for this position include strong swimming abilities and a thorough understanding of water safety protocols, which are essential for effectively monitoring the pool and ensuring participant safety. Communication skills are vital, as the Instructor/Lifeguard must clearly convey instructions and safety information to participants of all ages.
