Our aquatic facilities provide safe, engaging experiences for swimmers of all ages, and our team members help ensure every visitor has a positive experience. **What You’ll Be Doing:** - Monitor pool areas and activities to maintain a safe environment for swimmers of all ages. - Enforce facility rules and policies while providing friendly and respectful experience for participants. - Assist swimmers who need support, including performing emergency rescues when necessary. - Respond to emergencies by providing first aid, CPR, and other appropriate assistance. - Work collaboratively with other lifeguards to maintain coverage and safety throughout the facility. - Complete routine facility maintenance tasks, including cleaning pool areas, locker rooms, restrooms, and shared spaces. - Answer questions, provide information, and serve as a welcoming point of contact for community members. - Communicate safety concerns, operational issues, and improvement ideas with supervisors. - Participate in required training, meetings, and professional development activities. **What You’ll Need to Succeed** The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with people, stays calm under pressure, and takes pride in creating a safe and positive environment. - Strong swimming skills and confidence working in an aquatic environment. - Ability to respond quickly and appropriately during emergency situations. - Commitment to safety, professionalism, and following established procedures. - Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences. - Strong customer service skills and a welcoming, positive attitude. - Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team. - Dependable attendance and the ability to work scheduled shifts consistently. **Job Classification** For more details, please click on this link for job classification description: [Lifeguard](https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/hillsboro/classspecs/856498?keywords=lifeguard&pagetype=classSpecifications) **Any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.** - Must be a minimum of 16 years old. - StarGuard Elite Lifeguarding certification/license or other current Lifeguarding certification (if currently Lifeguard certified elsewhere, cross-over training will be completed upon hire). - Ability to attend work on a regular, predictable basis as scheduled **Licenses & Certifications** - Current Lifeguarding certification required at the time of application. - Ability to maintain required certifications throughout employment. **Work Environment & Schedule** - Work is performed primarily in a pool facility environment. - Position requires regular interaction with program participants, City employees, and members of the public. - Must be available to work scheduled shifts based on operational needs. **Application Gui…
