**Schedule/Hours: Monday-Saturday – schedule times vary (Part-time 27.5 hours per week)** **This position is responsible for:** Serves as a lifeguard for all pool operations; provides constant surveillance of pool activities. Teaches water exercise and swimming lesson classes. **Key Responsibilities:** - Guards the safety of swimmers by providing constant surveillance of the entire pool area. - Directs and supervises the behavior of all swimmers to ensure compliance with pool safety rules. - Provides emergency lifesaving assistance to troubled or drowning swimmers; performs lifesaving C.P.R. and first aid in accordance with certified practices and procedures; contacts emergency medical assistance when needed; stays with victims until emergency medical assistance takes over care of victim. - Teaches swimming lesson classes; maintains attendance records for classes; mails certification cards for swimming lesson classes. - Maintains the cleanliness of the pool water; vacuums bottom of pool surface; scrubs side walls; back washes filter system; checks filter gauges and regulates water level and temperature of pool. - Tests the pool water Ph level, chlorine level and Bromine level as scheduled in order to ensure correct chemical balance of pool water; dispenses chemicals into the pool as needed; ensures the safety of all swimmers. - Maintains neatness and cleanliness of pool area; collects and disposes of trash; maintain neat and orderly pool office. **Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:** - Ability to meet attendance requirements. - Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. - Ability to swim and perform lifesaving activities. - Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. **Employee Benefits:** - Paid Time Off (PTO) - Life Insurance - Retirement Plans and more! - High School Diploma or GED (Required) **AND** - Two years’ experience working as a Lifeguard and teaching swimming lessons, **OR** - Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills or abilities **Licenses and Certifications:** - Red Cross Certified Lifeguard - Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor - Red Cross Certified Lifeguard - C.P.R. and First Aid Certification (upon hire) - Instructor Certification **Equal Opportunity Employer: Veterans | Disabled**
