Join us and become a difference maker at Bill Wilson Center! **Job Summary:** Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Life Skills Coach/Residential Counselor coaches, trains, cares for and supervises families housed in the Young Adult Family Shelter and Non Traditional Families program by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. **Essential Duties/Responsibilities:** - Create home like environment assisting in meal planning/preparation and chores. - Utilize trauma informed practices and motivational interviewing when interacting with clients and creating culture of program. - Assist young adults in learning or improving independent living skills. - Assist youth with developing educational and vocational plans. - Ensure program outcomes and goals are met per contract. - Utilize community resources to meet the needs of clients in the program. - Maintain statistical data and complete reports as appropriate. Enter ALL client data into AWARDS. Must maintain AWARDS and keep updated with all client information and data. - Attend agency and other program meetings as appropriate. - Participate in agency Program Quality Improvement activities and initiatives. - Participate in agency Safety initiatives and proactively report safety issues to management immediately. - Complete program and financial documentation according to program and agency standards. - Must be able to communicate effectively, get along with coworkers and deal effectively and professionally under pressure. - Handle crisis situations as they may arise - Complete shift reports daily. - Monitor housing conditions (residence) to ensure safety and/or cleanliness issues are addressed in a timely manner. - Follow up with residents about violations and any non-compliance with program expectations. - Monitor chores and support clients to be successful to complete chores. - Regular attendance and punctuality is a requirement of the position. - Provides life skills coaching, supervision, and care for young adults and their families in the young adult family shelter program and nontraditional families program. - Organize activities/events for the clients to participate in - Serves as an appropriate role model for young adults and their families. - Provide individual support to residents as needed, as well group activities such as cooking classes, parenting coaching, interview coaching and developing other life skills. - Ensure safety of young adults and families in programs.. - Gives instructions to clients regarding desirable health and personal habits. - Support program structure, communicate with clients if structure is not being followed, follow-up with consistently and as appropriate. - Additional duties as assigned. **Education and Experience:** - Bachelor's degree (B.A. B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - One to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent. - Experience working with culturally diverse youth required. **Required Skills/Abilities:** - Regular attendance and punctuality are required. - Required to work swing shift schedule. - Comprehend and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and mainten…
