Orientation is Monday - Friday on dayshift for first 2 weeks. Coverage Area: Lake County - Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, environmental, and developmental health status. - Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely, monitor patient responses, and document all related activities accurately. - Document patient assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes in medical records to ensure continuity of care. - Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and preventive care. - Collaborate with healthcare providers, specialists, and support staff to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care delivery. - Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations to stabilize and provide necessary care to patients. - Monitor patient status continuously, noting any significant changes or concerns, and report findings to the healthcare team. - Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary data and materials are prepared. - Promote a safe environment by identifying and addressing potential safety hazards for patients, visitors, and staff. - Participate in quality improvement initiatives, monitor patient outcomes, and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices. - Supervise and delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel based on their competence and scope of practice, ensuring safe and efficient care delivery. - Performs other duties as assigned. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** - Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. [Required] - The LPN will display proficient clinical skills and critical thinking skills with strong communication skills. [Required] - Basic computer skills and experience with an electronic health record. [Required] - Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation proficiency as required by unit specialty. [Required] - Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practices. [Required] - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and others of diverse backgrounds. [Required] - Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast pace, high patient volume environment. [Required] - Mental and emotional stability, demonstrating a courteous and calm approach to all contacts with patients, visitors, and health care team members. [Required] - Mature judgment and the ability to handle confidential information within applicable regulations. [Required] - Personal qualities such as kindness, compassion, understanding, integrity, respect, sense of humor, discretion, and confidentiality.
