**Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Physician Office & Surgery Scheduler** **Location:** Boardman, OH **Department:** Orthopedics **Status:** Full-Time, Monday – Friday (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM) **Shift Perks:** NO Evenings | NO Weekends | NO Holidays **Position Overview** Southwoods Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Orthopedic team in Boardman. The primary focus of this role is Surgery Scheduling; however, the LPN will also assist with daily clinical workloads, answer patient phone calls, and draw up medications as needed. **Essential Duties & Responsibilities** - Customer Service: Create a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment for patients and visitors through exceptional care. - Surgery Scheduling: Receive specific procedural orders from physicians and coordinate scheduling with respective treatment facilities. - Documentation & Coordination: Send necessary medical documentation to treatment facilities and effectively communicate all preoperative orders (such as medication instructions) to patients. - Triage & Communication: Answer incoming calls and address clinical messages from patients regarding medical concerns. - Clinical Support: Draw up medications and assist Medical Assistants with rooming patients when clinical workloads dictate. - Compliance & Privacy: Maintain absolute patient privacy and ensure the office remains fully compliant with all regulatory agencies (OSHA, ODH, BOP, TJC, etc.). - Other Duties: Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned. **Qualifications & Requirements** - Licensure: Current, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Ohio. - Certification: Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification. - Experience: - Minimum of 1+ years of direct patient care experience required. - 3+ years of experience in a physician’s office or ambulatory setting is highly preferred. - Previous experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is preferred. - Skills: Strong organizational skills, deep empathy, and a proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. **Why Choose Southwoods Health?** At Southwoods, it's not just about the treatment, but how you're treated.
