**Licensed Nurse (Part-Time Casual)** **Department:** Health Care Center **Reports To:** Assistant Director of Health Care Center **FLSA Status:** Non-Exempt **Compensation:** $28.00–$39.95 per hour, based on licensure, experience, and qualifications **Shift:** 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM or 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM **Schedule:** Weekends Only ## **Position Summary** The Licensed Nurse in the Health Care Center provides skilled nursing care and clinical support to residents requiring short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and ongoing medical support. This position may be filled by either a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Registered Nurse, depending on facility needs, candidate qualifications, and licensure. The position is responsible for providing safe, effective, compassionate, and resident-centered nursing care in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, facility policies, professional standards, and the employee’s scope of licensure. Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses may perform shared licensed nursing duties; however, Registered Nurses may also be assigned additional duties requiring RN-level licensure, clinical judgment, assessment, supervision, delegation, or oversight. Compensation is determined by licensure level, experience, qualifications, and assigned responsibilities. LPN candidates are paid within the LPN pay range, and RN candidates are paid within the RN pay range. ## **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** - Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions as prescribed by physicians or authorized providers, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to medication administration protocols. - Perform nursing observations and assessments consistent with the employee’s scope of licensure, including vital signs, physical observations, resident status monitoring, and identification of changes in condition. - Monitor residents for signs of decline, distress, infection, pain, behavioral changes, or medical emergencies and take appropriate nursing action in accordance with established procedures. - Provide direct nursing care, including wound care, catheter care, restorative support, treatments, and assistance with activities of daily living as needed. - Assist with the implementation, evaluation, and updating of individualized resident care plans in collaboration with residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team. - Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, pharmacy providers, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary team members to support continuity and coordination of care. - Serve as a liaison between residents, families, and healthcare professionals by relaying important information, addressing concerns, and supporting resident-centered care. - Document and maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records, including assessments, observations, medication administration records, treatment records, care plan updates, progress notes, and significant events. - Support admissions, discharges, transfers, care conferences, and related clinical documentation as assigned. - Implement and uphold infection control, safety, resident rights, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance standards. - Respond promptly and effectively to resident needs, changes in condition, emergencies, and other urgent clinical situations. - Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, direct care staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and integrate resident care services. - Participate in quality improvement activities, surveys, audits, in-services, and other initiatives that support safe and compliant clinical operations. - Perform other duties as assigned. ## **Additional RN-Level Duties, When Filled by a Registered Nurse** - Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments requiring RN-level clinical judgment. - Exercise independent nursing judgment in evaluating resident condition, clinical needs, and appropriate nursing interventions. - Supervise,…
