Are you a teacher with library experience? This could be a perfect opportunity for you. The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a Library & Resource Specialist to manage and support the Resource Center operations within a prison complex. | Job Duties: | | --- | - Oversees, facilitates, and provides, as necessary and in a timely manner, legal and paralegal access, notary services, assists with e-filing access and distribution, and ensures services are documented - Catalogs, indexes, and organizes Resource Center materials including books, newspapers, and magazines, and reviews these materials to ensure they meet Publication Review standards - Provides access to materials useful for reentry - Responds to inquiries for research materials - Trains and oversees a resident workforce in carrying out a variety of Resource Center functions - Assists and tracks staff and inmates' use of library resources - Promotes Resource Center to support ADCRR’s goals - Attends meetings and trainings - Prepares reports and memos - Assists in ordering library/resource materials as approved by the state/federal regulations and ADCRR policy and procurement procedures - Provides training and onboarding assistance to newly hired librarians - Assists teachers by providing literature or other library materials as necessary- - Drives on State business - Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment | Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): | | --- | **Knowledge of:** - Library laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures - Professional and modern library tools, principles and practices - Modern library practices and current original and copy cataloging standards - Computers and various software programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, and library automation or OPACs (cataloging and circulation programs, file manipulation and backup) - Operation of standard office equipment, including scanners, copiers, and printers - Principles and practices of inmate management and supervision **Skill in:** - Verbal and written communication - Organizational and time management - Conflict resolution - Customer service - Classifying and cataloging books and other resource materials **Ability to:** - Work in a correctional environment - Possess professional knowledge of all aspects of library principles, concepts, methodologies, and management techniques and able to apply them in a correctional Resource Center - Inventory, catalog, track, and organize resource materials - Establish and maintain effective work relationships - Maintain the Resource Center in a neat, secure, and orderly fashion - Learn and adhere to department policies and procedures | Selective Preference(s): | | --- | - Bachelor's Degree or higher in Library Science or related field - Experience in state service and providing customer services - Experience in office managemen…
