South Central Bank, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Lender I in their Lexington Market. The position Lender 1 originates, underwrites, and closes secured and unsecured consumer and agricultural/commercial loans in accordance with established lending objectives, policies and procedures; establish and maintain positive relationships with existing and potential customers. **Essential Functions:** These are functions that the person filling the Lender 1 position MUST be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodations. - Maintain a current working knowledge of all bank policies and procedures, as well as federal and state lending regulations, processing, closing and post-closing functions, loan collection techniques and compliance regulations - Establish prudent loan underwriting criteria in accordance with bank lending policies and procedures - Answer a wide variety of inquiries from applicants concerning the status of specific loan applications in process, as well as general bank lending policies and procedures - Collects required financial information in a timely manner to evaluate loan and make recommendation/decision - Evaluates creditworthiness of the applicant(s) and approves or declines such loan submissions - Submit loan application over lending limit to appropriate loan committee for approval - Call on potential and existing customers outside the office to develop new business and retain current customers two or three days a week. - Communicate with state and federal agencies, officers to the court, realtors, appraisers, credit bureaus, attorneys, and customers to secure or provide information - Assist collection team in collection of delinquent loans when necessary - Perform other duties as needed - Participate in community affairs where bank’s visibility would be enhanced - Meet established loan and deposit goals as set by the Market President annually - Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds **Minimum Requirements:** - High School Diploma/GED, or equivalent - At least one (1) year of direct lending experience **Preferred Qualifications:** In addition to the minimum requirements listed above, the qualifications listed below are generally preferred. - Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field - 3-5 years experience in lending South Central Bank offers an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision and life insurance paid holidays and vacation time, 401K with company match and much more.
