We are seeking a skilled and proactive Legal Assistant to support our attorneys in the Brookfield office. **Position Overview** DeWitt LLP is seeking a highly organized and proactive Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a dynamic, multifaceted practice. This role supports work across business law, real estate, and litigation, which requires adaptability, attention to detail, and strong client service skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys handling a wide range of legal matters for businesses, financial institutions, and individuals. * * * ### **Key Responsibilities** - Provide administrative and legal support across business, real estate, and litigation matters - Draft, revise, and format legal documents, including contracts, leases, pleadings, and correspondence - Manage complex calendars, deadlines, and court filings (state and federal) - Coordinate closings and transactional documentation for real estate and business matters - Maintain and organize case files, both electronic and physical - Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel - Assist with billing, time entry, and matter management - Support trial and appellate preparation, including compiling exhibits and filings - 3+ years of legal assistant experience, preferably in business law, real estate, and litigation - Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document preparation - Experience with e-filing systems and case management software - Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail - Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision - Strong written and verbal communication skills - High level of professionalism and client service orientation * * * ### **Preferred Experience** - Experience supporting transactional work (business or real estate closings) - Familiarity with litigation processes, including trial preparation - Background working with financial institutions or business clients * * * ### **What Sets This Role Apart** - Exposure to a broad and sophisticated practice spanning transactions and litigation - Opportunity to work closely with a highly experienced, solutions-oriented attorneys - Meaningful client interaction and involvement in complex matters - Collaborative and team-oriented firm culture focused on practical, results-driven legal solutions * * * ### **Benefits** DeWitt LLP offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes: - Health, dental, and vision insurance - 401(k) with firm profit-sharing contribution - Paid time off and holidays - Professional development opportunities - Hybrid work environment after onboarding: two days remote/three days onsite **How to Apply** Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and interest in the position.
