Leave of Absence Specialist - Hutchinson, MN JobID: 2429 Position Type: District Services/Leave of Absence Specialist Date Posted: 7/16/2026 Location: District Office Additional Information: Show/Hide Hutchinson Public Schools is looking for a Leave of Absence Specialist to join our team! The Leave of Absence Specialist will oversee and administer leave of absence and accommodation requests. This includes leaves of absence within the employee's contract or collective bargaining agreement, Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), Minnesota Paid Leave, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), other leave laws along with short-term and long-term disability. The salary range for this position is $26.00 per hour - $30.00 per hour. Salary is dependent upon education and experience. Responsibilities Include: Communicates with employees regarding their need for leave and/or modified work schedule. Leave of absence administration process from the employee's initial notice of the need for leave to their return to work. Provide employees, when applicable, the information about how to apply for MN Paid Leave, short-term and long-term disability. Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers compensation, or other leave(s). Maintain complete and accurate leave of absence and accommodation records. Ensure confidentiality of medical information, documentation and files. Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including but not limited to the FMLA, ADA, MN Paid Leave and state and local laws. Other duties as assigned, including providing assistance to other district office staff. Essential Skills: Proficient in Google Apps (Email, Drive, Docs, Sheets) Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Administrative Assistant or secretarial degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Leave of absence administration training preferred. At least one year of Human Resources experience, specifically administering leaves of absence is preferred.
