Lead Construction Support Services Technician

**INTERVIEWS WILL BE CONDUCTED ON AUGUST 14TH.** Under general supervision, leads, trains, and participates in the more complex and difficult work of a crew responsible for the performance of a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work in the construction, modification, maintenance, and repair of County roads, storm drainage systems, facilities, and related appurtenances and equipment; uses and operates a variety of manual and power tools and light to heavy power driven equipment; builds, repairs, and maintains wooden, concrete, and metal facilities and structures; performs road crew activities such as paving, traffic control, snow removal as needed; and performs related duties as assigned. Directs the work of assigned staff on a project or day-to-day basis; performs routine to complex maintenance and repair work in an assigned area; provides technical and specialized assistance to the assigned management and supervisory staff. **SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED** Receives general supervision from the Road Services Supervisor. Exercises technical and functional direction and training to less experienced staff in the day-to-day operational activities. **CLASS CHARACTERISTICS** This is the working crew leader that performs the full range of skilled construction, modification, maintenance, and repair duties required to ensure that County infrastructure, systems, and facilities to which assigned are maintained in effective working condition and provide the highest level of safety for public use. Responsibilities include inspecting and attending to assigned areas in a timely manner and performing a wide variety of highly-skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of assigned facilities and systems. Incumbents are expected to work independently and exercise sound judgment and initiative.
