Lead Concrete Worker/Finisher

**Announcement of Vacancy** **Lead Concrete Worker/Finisher** **Possum Kingdom, Graford, Texas** **SUMMARY OF POSITION** **:** The purpose of this position is to perform in a lead capacity doing concrete work and assisting the welders and abrasive blasters as part of a team in completing work duties and performing construction, repairs, and general maintenance on the Brazos River Authority (BRA) dams. This is accomplished by overseeing less experienced employees; pouring and finishing concrete; operating concrete saws and jackhammers to remove deteriorated concrete; building and setting concrete forms; bending, cutting, and installing reinforcing bars. Other responsibilities include operating heavy equipment; assisting the welders and abrasive blasters; assisting with scaffold erection; assisting with training and mentoring less experienced RSMU staff and any other duties as assigned. **REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES** **:** Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or field processes. The employee must have the ability to read and write basic English, perform simple arithmetic operations, and do simple data entry into a computer. The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results with some direction when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. Assignment is reviewed upon completion. **REQUIRED EDUCATION & ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING** **:** Work requires a level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency or an equivalent combination of experience. Three to six years of concrete experience is preferred. Carpentry experience is preferred. **POSTING DATE** **:** October 3, 2018 Open until filled **CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED** **:** None **STARTING SALARY RANGE** **:** $21.41 to $27.30 per hour depending on experience level.
