# JOB SUMMARY: Oversee and maintain the Chemistry department workflow and ensure the department follows safety and quality assurance procedures. This includes reagent supply usage, maintenance flow, instrument training and training documents. # JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Support PathGroup’s mission, vision, goals, and management - Provide scientific oversight of timely selection, development and validation of assays in LC/MS-MS area. Assists in strategic development of the laboratory services - Ensure compliance with laboratory regulatory - Support all processes involved with Quality Management which include solving problems, developing procedures, and trending and reporting data. - Implement and maintain effective departmental Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement programs and monitors. - Organize QC lot changes tracking expirations and shipment process per CAP - Reviewing reports from laboratory equipment to ensure everything is operating in an efficient manner. - Maintain calibration programs for testing equipment that affect quality - Responsible for the continuity between all areas of the department that includes departmental procedures, validations, and maintaining inspection readiness. - Ensure effective employee relations by sustaining an ethical, non-discriminatory and safe work environment and establishing effective communication lines and methods. - Assist in establishing and executing departmental long and short-term - Become familiar with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all Corporate policies, including the Privacy and Security policies - Follow guidelines and SOPs for reviewing and releasing - Support training programs by writing SOP’s and working with Medical Technologist to ensure everyone is knowledgeable on instrumentation and work flow. - Review and monitoring of LCMS consumables and comparative inventory. # NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Work with other departments within PathGroup and - Nothing in the job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. - Other duties as # EDUCATION & LICENSURE: - Bachelor’s degree in science - Master’s Degree - National certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as applicable, or as a Medical Technologist (MT) preferred. - Maintains appropriate continuing education and to increase basic # EXPERIENCE: - Must have proven track record in physician, employee and client relationships and operational performances. - Experience with the validation protocol for LCMS testing # PHYSICAL, MENTAL DEMANDS, AND WORKING CONDITIONS: **** **Job Requirements** | | | --- | | | | **Physical Requirements** (positions classified with this job-code may require many or all of the following physical requirements) **Mobility:** (Ability to assist in the movement of objects) - Sitting Bending • Lifting • Pushing - Pulling Walking • Stooping • Standing - Turning **Dexterity:** (Ability to manipulate objects) - Reaching Grasping • Handling **Visual:** (Ability to recognize, register, and respond) - Color recognition• Depth perception• Reading / Close-up work• Graphing - Calibration **Communication:** (Ability to understand, respond and translate into action) - Communication **Environmental** **Conditions** (positions classified with this job-code may require work in or near the following environmental conditions) **Noise:** - Normal office environment **Vibration:** *(None)* **Atmospheric** **Conditions:** *(None)* **Hazards:** - Handling of biological materials - Blood borne Pathogens ## Work Activities **Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge** — Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job. **Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates** — Providing information to supervisors, co- workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. **Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings** — Monitoring and reviewing info…
