Laundry Attendant

**The Gant** **Aspen, Colorado** **POSITION SUMMARY** The Laundry Attendant will perform those duties that relate to cleaning, sorting, folding, and stocking of all the linen inventory in such a manner that these functions meet the goals and standards of guest service established by The Gant. Benefits may be subject to generally applicable eligibility, waiting period, or other requirements and conditions. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Sorting and Inspecting - Sort soiled linens, towels, uniforms, and other items by color, fabric type, and degree of soil. - Inspect linens and towels for stains, tears, or damage, and report any issues to the supervisor. Washing and Drying - Operate washing machines and dryers according to established procedures. - Use appropriate cleaning agents, softeners, and disinfectants as per guidelines. - Ensure proper loading and unloading of machines to avoid damage. Folding and Ironing - Fold clean towels and linens neatly and organize them by type. Inventory and Stocking - Maintain an inventory of linens and towels and report shortages or any discrepancies. - Re-stock laundry carts and housekeeping closets with fresh linens and towels for housekeeping staff. - Ensure proper storage of clean linens and towels in designated areas. Cleaning and Maintenance - Regularly clean laundry equipment, machines, and work areas. - Report any malfunctioning equipment or safety hazards to the supervisor. - Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation policies as per The Gant’s standards. Customer Service - Respond to guest laundry requests with professionalism and efficiency. - Ensure timely delivery of clean linens and uniforms to meet guest and operational needs. **QUALIFICATIONS** - Dependable, stable work background - Experience working with the public - Good communication skills - Available to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. - Ability to do several tasks at one time - Ability to walk long distances and spend most of day on feet **WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** - The primary work areas are the laundry room, Housekeeping/linen closets, property walkways, and the housekeeping office. - Regularly pass through outdoors with adverse conditions with exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (around 23 kg) regularly. - Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time. - Ability to work in a hot and humid environment. - Fast paced work environment - Reaching and stretch to remove dirty linens for housekeeping closet shelves, and to place clean linens and towels on high Housekeeping closet shelves - Pushing and pulling full laundry carts across the property and load and unload linens and towels from washers and dryers **TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:** - Commercial washers and dryers - Linen carts - Chemicals for washers - Various other laundry chemicals - Rubber gloves, goggles and other PPE as needed *This Job Description in no way states that these are the only duties of an employee in this position.
