## Description Laser Machine Operator – FT Sawgrass Industries | Saluda, NC Full Time | Non-Exempt Sawgrass Industries is looking for a motivated Laser Machine Operator to join our Production team. In this role, you will operate and maintain laser cutting equipment while ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the production process. What You'll Do - Operate and tend automatic laser cutting machines safely and efficiently. - Perform secondary production and post cut tasks. - Inspect cut components to ensure they meet quality standards. - Follow established production processes, work instructions, and safety procedures. - Perform routine preventative maintenance on laser cutting equipment. - Operate manual cutting tools as needed. - Read and interpret production orders, bills of materials, and routing documents. - Identify nonconforming materials and potential production issues. - Generate cut files to maximize material utilization and minimize waste. - Assist with inbound raw material inspections when needed. - Accurately document production data and maintain organized work areas. - Support 6S initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. - Cross train on multiple laser cutting machines and related production tasks. Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Two or more years of experience operating Gerber laser cutting machines, preferably in the textile industry. - Experience reading drawings and working with tolerances. - Experience with CAD software and drafting is preferred. - Basic Microsoft Office skills. - Experience working with a variety of raw materials. - Ability to stand for extended periods during the workday. - Comfortable operating computers and production software. - Ability to lift and move materials up to 75 pounds.
