Responsible for performing general building and grounds maintenance work. Qualifications: Any combination of training and experience equivalent to the 10th grade One year of minor building maintenance, custodial, or landscaping experience Possession of a valid Ohio Driver's License and a good driving record Job Duties: Assists in the performance of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and heating equipment repair work Performs general repairs to equipment, buildings, and sites Installs new doors, door hardware, and locking mechanisms in buildings Pours concrete, lays brick, digs holes Paints district buildings, facilities, and sites Maintains district equipment Assembles, installs, repairs and maintains outdoor equipment/materials, i.e., playground equipment, Big Toys, picnic tables, fences, basketball hoops, and bleachers Performs preventative maintenance on equipment/materials Performs maintenance on parking lots, i.e., lining and pothole repair Performs sign installation and repair Replaces athletic equipment Orders supplies and equipment Maintains appropriate written records for work assignments Delivers commodities and athletic equipment Operates a forklift, push cart, and dollies to maneuver materials Assists in the instruction and supervision of summer help Removes graffiti from buildings Drives a motor vehicle to various facilities to transport materials, supplies, equipment, or trash Collects, sorts, and distributes the mail as needed per district requirements Performs snow removal using a shovel or blade mounted on a motor vehicle, salt spreader, and snow blower Mows grass on school grounds and athletic fields using power and/or tractor mowers Applies fertilizer, weed control and/or other chemicals to turf and grounds Plants, trims, and removes trees and shrubs Performs landscaping tasks such as raking, seeding, rolling and sodding Lines athletic fields prior to athletic contests Rakes leaves and disposes of trash and landscape debris Answers emergency calls to schools and other facilities used by Worthington Schools Collects, sorts and distributes district materials as needed Assists in the storage and inventory tracking of excess and obsolete equipment Assists school personnel with assembly, moving, and storage of equipment Job Skills & Abilities: Some knowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools and equipment used in the building and grounds maintenance trade Ability in the use of tools, materials and equipment used in the building and grounds maintenance trades Ability to follow oral and written instructions Ability to obtain licensing as needed for the individual position Ability to perform a wide variety of manual tasks Ability to maneuver heavy weights and climb ladders and to perform heavy physical labor (for example: lift, bend, twist, lift arms above head, etc. Ability to operate power equipment Ability to maintain insurability through district fleet policy Ability to use technology to complete daily and assigned tasks appropriate for the position *Salary Range $24.23/hr. to $30.76/hr.* Email To A Friend Print Version Openings as of 7/15/2026
