Laboratory Assistant II

**This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus** Performs routine technical and clerical functions to include specimen registration and billing. Performs venipuncture/capillary puncture as assigned; label tubes and specimen containers, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens. Will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests as requested. Will assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. ### Qualifications **Education:** Required: High school diploma or equivalent Preferred: Completion of a phlebotomy program **Experience:** Required: 1 year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program Preferred: In addition to above, basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience **Certifications:** Required: Phlebotomy certification where State law requires Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar **#LI-JH5** ### About the Team Baptist Health System has more than 120 years history of caring for our community and making a positive difference.
