Drake is seeking dependable, hardworking Laborers to join our highway construction team in De Kalb, Texas. This position plays a critical role in supporting roadway construction operations by performing a variety of manual labor tasks and assisting crews in maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive job site. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** - Assist with general highway and roadway construction activities. - Perform manual labor tasks including shoveling, raking, digging, site cleanup, and material handling. - Assist equipment operators, foremen, and supervisors as directed. - Load, unload, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment. - Prepare and maintain work zones and job sites. - Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and TxDOT requirements. - Maintain a clean and organized work environment. - Perform other duties as assigned to support project operations. **Qualifications** - Previous construction or highway construction experience preferred but not required. - Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments. - Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull construction materials and equipment. - Dependable transportation and reliable attendance required. - Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or night shifts as project needs require. - Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. - Strong commitment to workplace safety. **Physical Requirements** - Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb. - Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds. - Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain. - Ability to work near heavy equipment and active roadway traffic.
