## Description **Position Title**: Laboratory Technical Supervisor (Texas) **Effective Date**: 07/14/2026 **Reports** **To**: Laboratory Manager **Position** **status**: Exempt Full-Time **Primary Function:** Responsible for the proper performance and monitoring of all laboratory procedures and reporting of test results, as well as ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained, while showing independent judgment and good reasoning ability. Additionally, responsible for accurately and efficiently processing samples using laboratory equipment and quickly reporting any problems to management. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** - Works closely with the Laboratory Manager to be sure that the competency of the laboratory staff and the accuracy of the laboratory results are of the highest quality expected by our customers. - Oversee the lab operations to be sure that all required laboratory activities (linearity and correlation studies, QC review, equipment maintenance, proficiency testing, staff competencies, etc.) are performed on time with desired results, and documented to comply with regulations. - Works with the manager on staff scheduling and ordering of supplies. - Performs laboratory testing as needed. Assumes lead role in assuring compliance in accordance with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations, CAP accreditation, FDA compliance, and/or specific state regulations. - Meets regularly with staff and senior management to discuss and resolve workload and technical issues. Maintain effective working relationships. - Assists in the development of quality standards with Manager, Quality Assurance Services to assure consistently high-quality results, and take appropriate immediate corrective action when necessary. Develop, execute, and analyze quality-reporting measures. Maintains records and prepare evaluation reports to provide to management. - Monitors laboratory calibration and maintenance records. Assures laboratories remain inspection ready. Perform audits to assess compliance, addressing non-conformities and identifying process improvement opportunities and ideas. - Collects, prepares, and evaluates patient specimens for analysis and performs technical procedures with accuracy and precision, meeting the standards of all accrediting and regulatory agencies in a timely manner. - Operates laboratory instruments and equipment and performs equipment maintenance according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures. - Recognizes unusual patient results and identifies problems in analytical procedures/systems; responds with appropriate investigation or corrective action. - Troubleshoots assays and equipment which fail to perform adequately. - Observes established safety guidelines and maintains cleanliness of the laboratory. - Keeps a meticulous and organized record of specimens, tests, instrument logs, and technical analyses. - Maintains stringent standards for quality, identifying any issues which might adversely impact the quality of test results and/or employee safety, and communicating these to the appropriate management representatives as necessary for resolution. - Participates in activities required to support all necessary licensure for the clinical laboratory, including quality management functions and on-site inspections of the laboratory. - Responsible for maintaining updated understanding and knowledge of the methods employed in the laboratory and the use of the resulting information by physicians through continuing education activities. - Consults with management and personnel on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields. - Accurately document and maintain all records for equipment and instruments. - Supports the administrative functions of the lab as required. - All other reasonable duties as assigned. **Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:** Mental Abilities and Skills Requirements: - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills i…
