We believe our greatest asset is our people, and we’re committed to providing a safe, efficient, and supportive work environment where craftsmanship thrives. * * * **Position Overview** The Lead Mechanic plays a key role in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and heavy marine equipment used on tugs, barges, and construction machinery. This hands-on position requires advanced diagnostic skills, leadership, and a strong commitment to safety and performance. ## Requirements **Key Responsibilities** - Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel engines, propulsion systems, and mechanical components. - Troubleshoot and service hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems (AC/DC). - Perform preventative maintenance and document all repairs. - Direct and support mechanics and laborers to ensure timely, cost-effective work completion. - Train and mentor junior team members. - Assist with rigging, machinery removal/installation, and deck equipment maintenance. * * * **Qualifications** - Extensive experience with diesel engines, drivetrain, and marine systems. - Proficiency with diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals. - Ability to work independently and lead a small team effectively. - Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and in all weather conditions.
