KVCC Assistant Mens Basketball Coach

**Position Title:** KVCC Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach **Supervisor:** Athletic Director **Salary** $2,000, ($1,000, fall semester, $1,000, spring semester) **Job Type:** Part-Time **Job Summary:** The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach supports all aspects of program. The Assistant Coach will help build and sustain a competitive program while fostering academic success, leadership, and personal growth among student-athletes. **Minimum Qualifications:** - Associate’s degree required or equivalent combination of training and coaching experience - Successful coaching and recruiting experience are required; at the collegiate level is preferred - Current CPR/AED certification, or ability to attain - Clean driving record required **Responsibilities:** - Assist the Head Coach in planning and leading team practices, workouts, and player development sessions. - Teach basketball fundamentals, team systems, and offensive/defensive strategies. - Support game preparation through scouting, film breakdown, and opponent analysis. - Assist with game-day coaching, bench management, and in-game adjustments. - Promote strength, conditioning, and injury prevention for student-athletes. - Help identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who fit KVCC’s culture. - Build and maintain recruiting relationships with coaches across Maine and New England. - Support student-athlete academic success, retention, personal growth, and connection to campus resources. - Assist with program operations including travel, equipment, scheduling, and events/camps - Maintain compliance with institutional and athletic policies while fostering a professional, inclusive, and respectful team culture. **Application Procedures:** Initial review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. **To submit a complete application file, click on the KVCC Employment Link,** [Employment Opportunities](https://www.paycomonline.net/rbegin_kvcc_me_edu/Documents/Documents/1%20Materials%20to%20Submit%20to%20Search%20Committee%20Chairs/%20Employment%20Opportunities): http://www.kvcc.me.edu/employment, select the position you are interested in, “Apply Now”, complete the “Application” and upload your cover letter, resume and official transcript. ***Kennebec Valley Community College*** *is a Recovery Friendly and Equal Opportunity Employer.
