## Overview **SUMMARY:** Removes unwanted sand from castings as required with high speed impact equipment. ## Description **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Read process sheets in order to process castings according to customer’s required dimensions and tolerances. 2. Operate shot blasting and high speed impact/vibratory equipment to clean and remove core materials from the casting as required and as directed. 3. Safely operate power fork truck to move materials as needed (requires formal in-house training). 4. Maintain cleanliness of work area. 5. Must be willing to contribute to team activities which would include process and safety improvement. ## Requirements **PRECERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:** 1. Pre-employment physical 2. Respiratory test **QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:** *To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to read and comprehend daily schedule, process sheets, operation cards, simple instructions and memos. 2. Ability to record required information on operation cards and daily scrap reports. 3. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and process sheets. 4. Ability to effectively interact with other employees at Bremer. 5. Complete time cards. **MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:** Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers to determine total number of parts belted/trimmed. **REASONING ABILITY:** 1. Ability to makes decisions on quality levels with Quality personnel and other employees and determine reason for scrap. 2. Ability to assess the overall need to process the casting to extent that it will meet customer requirements. 3. Ability to apply commonsense in order to operate equipment safely. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** *The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full movement of back motion, stand; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; use eye-hand coordination and reach with hands and arms. 2. The employee is occasionally required to walk and talk or hear. 3. Ability to listen to sound of machine to indicate proper operation. 4. Extremely loud area usually exceeding 100db. 5. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally push carts weighing up to 1,000 pounds. 6. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. **WORK ENVIRONMENT:** *The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* 1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works very close to an exposed high speed vibrating impact tooling required to remove unwanted sand from the castings. 2. Regular exposure to non-hazardous fumes or airborne particles and occasionally very warm temperatures in the summer (+100°F). 3.
