Overview: SAR Academy, a co-educational day school in Riverdale, NY, is seeking dedicated and reliable Kitchen Staff members for the 2026/2027 school year to support daily food service operations across its campuses. With nearly 1,700 students from Infant Toddler through 12th grade, the school’s kitchen team plays a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Kitchen Staff will assist in food preparation, meal service, and maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas. Responsibilities: Food Preparation & Service: Assist in preparing and assembling meals according to daily menus and dietary guidelines. Ensure food is properly portioned and presented in an appealing manner. Serve students and staff in an organized and efficient manner during meal periods. Kitchen Operations & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food preparation and serving areas. Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and labeling. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed. Assist in restocking supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Qualifications: Prior experience in food service, cafeteria, or kitchen work preferred but not required. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards (training provided as needed). Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy trays, and work in a warm kitchen environment. This is a full-time position reporting to the Kitchen Manager. The Kitchen Staff will play an essential role in ensuring students and staff receive high-quality meals in a safe and welcoming dining environment.
