Category Production Job Location Arlington, TX, US Position Type Full-Time/Regular JOB SUMMARY The Junior Electronic / Mechanical Technician supports the repair, calibration, and testing of industrial electronic and electro-mechanical equipment under the guidance of senior technicians and supervisors. This role focuses on developing technical skills while ensuring repaired units meet company quality and performance standards. The Junior Technician assists with diagnosing, repairing, and validating equipment such as PLCs, drives, industrial PCBs, timers, counters, monitors, servo motors, and temperature/process control devices. Responsibilities include basic troubleshooting, component replacement, soldering, and functional testing using standard diagnostic tools and procedures. This position requires foundational knowledge of electronics or electro-mechanical systems, good soldering skills, and the ability to follow documented repair processes. The Junior Technician is responsible for accurately documenting repairs and test results in company IT systems and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Perform bench-level electronic and electro-mechanical repairs using industry-standard troubleshooting, soldering, and diagnostic techniques · Diagnose and isolate failures at the component level on industrial control equipment · Repair, calibrate, program, and functionally test industrial electronics, including PLCs, drives, industrial PCBs, timers, counters, monitors, and temperature/process controls · Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, function generators, and test fixtures to verify proper operation and performance · Perform power-up, diagnostic, and functional testing on all repaired units to ensure quality and reliability · Inspect, clean, and verify part numbers on all units processed · Order replacement parts as required and ensure correct components are used in repairs · Accurately document repair actions, troubleshooting steps, parts used, and test results in company tracking and IT systems · Process pre-evaluation units to “RTS” (Ready to Sell) condition in accordance with quality standards · Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of all units throughout the repair process · Support and adhere to established quality methods, processes, and procedures · Identify opportunities to improve repair processes, testing methods, and final product quality · Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior and mid-level technicians, including answering technical questions and assisting with complex troubleshooting scenarios · Share best practices, technical knowledge, and lessons learned to support team development and consistency · Effectively manage time and prioritize workload to meet productivity and turnaround expectations · Properly use and maintain shop assets, tools, and test fixtures; provide and maintain personal hand and power tools as required · Collaborate effectively in a team environment while serving as a trusted subject-matter expert within the department · Support development of new capabilities, technologies, and product lines, including servo and robotics systems when applicable METRICS · On Time Delivery · Units per day · Rate of return · ADS FTE · TRIF SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES · Not applicable.
