To achieve this mission, HPARD is seeking an **Irrigation Leader** to join its Greenspace team. Potential Candidate will: - Guide, train, and schedule personnel engaged in the assembly, installation and repair of pipes, fittings, valves, electrical controllers and fixtures for irrigation systems. - Participate in installation tasks of irrigation systems. - Estimate and requisition materials, supplies, and equipment needed in the maintenance and operation of the irrigation systems. Record cost information per project. - Operate manual and pneumatic-powered drills and tapping machines to run service pipe and tubing connections. - Interpret blueprints and construction plans pertaining to irrigation systems. - Operate pressure test equipment to ensure irrigation systems meet specifications and do not leak or have other malfunctions. - Secure permits for the connection of the irrigation system to the water supply. - Establish inventory control procedures to maintain an appropriate supply of parts and to allow lead time for ordering new parts. - Perform other tasks as required. **WORKING CONDITIONS** The position involves considerable physical exertion, such as regular climbing of ladders, lifting of heavy objects (up to 80 pounds) on a highly frequent basis and/or assuming awkward positions for long periods of time. There are routine exposures to significant levels of heat, cold, moisture and air pollution.
