With compassion, innovation, and collaboration at our core, we are proud to play a vital role in supporting our community and advancing veterinary medicine. **As a Veterinary Technician in the Internal Medicine department, some duties you will be responsible for include:** - Provide compassionate care and monitoring for animals admitted to the internal medicine department. - Assist with a variety of diagnostic procedures including blood work, imaging, and endoscopy. - Administer medications, IV fluids, and wound care treatments under veterinarian supervision. - Communicate effectively with pet owners, offering guidance on their pet’s condition and treatment options. - Maintain accurate medical records and ensure equipment is properly maintained and sterilized. - Assist veterinarians during procedures such as biopsies and aspiration cytology. - Stay updated on advancements in internal medicine through continuing education. - Collaborate closely with other veterinary professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. - Advocate for the well-being of patients, ensuring they receive appropriate care and treatment. - Other duties as assigned. **Basic required qualifications:** - High school diploma - Valid and current Registered Veterinary Technician license in the state of California **is highly preferred** - Calm, professional demeanor. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Reliable time management and problem-solving skills; working efficiently and effectively throughout the hospital. - Multi-task various duties and responsibilities in a timely and reliable manner, with appropriate follow-through and accuracy. - Ability to work well independently as well as with a team. - Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations - High level of venipuncture skills, math calculations, and patient handling **Preferred qualifications:** Experience in Specialty Veterinary Medicine, with a focus on internal medicine. **Benefits:** - Highly competitive and comparable wages based on experience and skill set. - CE allowance and license application and renewal reimbursement for RVT’s - Opportunities for growth and financial support and onsite mentorship toward pursuit of VTS - Health and wellness programs - We also pay YOU when you hit major career milestones, earn your RVT or your VTS and get a cash bonus! - Get paid to learn!
