Provide vision, oversight, operational planning, and strategic leadership for the Thayne Center. This includes student leadership development, community engagement opportunities, basic needs resources, and cultural programming. Supervise professional staff and student leaders. Advise Salt Lake Community College Student Association (SLCCSA) President and support staff in advising SLCCSA Vice Presidents. Collaborate with College leadership in a shared governance model that empowers students and ensures student voices are elevated. Lead efforts in student leadership development and engagement opportunities. Manage complex departmental budgets, including educational and general funds, student fees allocations, and partnerships with institutional advancement for donations. Oversee cultural programming that invites all students to celebrate and learn together. Conduct regular assessments to ensure programs are meeting student needs, advancing student learning, and supporting College strategic priorities. This position is at-will Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities in: - Collaborative leadership practices, including the ability to build a strong cohesive team with a shared vision and lead in a dynamic environment - Leadership for strategic planning, accountability, and program prioritization. - Managing a complex budget, including fiscal forecasting and working within the parameters of various funding sources - Organizational theory and practices related to higher education, student government, basic needs, community engagement, cultural programs, clubs, and leadership development - Student development, learning, and retention theories and practices, including professional and supportive relationships with students. - Student success strategies and how to apply them to increase student access, persistence, completion, and post-completions success - Partnership with community agencies and resources that support basic needs, co-curricular learning, and student success - Developing strong collaborative relationships with multiple entities using effective communication strategies - Program development, implementation, and oversight - Developing and executing a department-wide assessment plan to make data-informed decisions for program improvement and effectiveness. - Managing complex operations, scheduling, and supervision of staff at multiple locations - Familiarity with student engagement platforms (CampusGroups) and data management systems (Domo). - Planning and facilitating frequent meetings, working groups, and committees. - Communicating effectively in multiple modalities with individuals and in group settings - Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College. - Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. - Bachelor's Degree in a related field - Four (4) to seven (7) years full-time equivalent paid work experience in Student Affairs, leadership development, or other related field - Three (3) years of the required experience must include direct supervision of professional full-time staff. - **Experience working in a multi-campus community college setting** - **Bi/Multi-lingual** - **Experience using Campus Groups, Banner, Navigate 360, or other Student involvement software**
