The Director of International Student Services and Compliance (ISS) provides strategic, operational, and compliance leadership for Salt Lake Community College's International Student Services department. The Director is responsible for developing and maintaining a responsive, student-centered model of support for international students from inquiry and admission through enrollment, retention, completion, transfer, employment authorization, and post-completion transition. The Director serves as the College's Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) and is responsible for ensuring institutional compliance with applicable federal regulations, SEVIS reporting requirements, institutional authorization standards, and related policies and procedures governing international students. In addition to compliance oversight, the Director leads the development and implementation of a proactive case management and student success model designed to support international students in navigating academic, personal, financial, cultural, and immigration-related challenges. The Director establishes service standards, develops effective operational workflows, supervises staff, uses data to drive continuous improvement, and collaborates with campus partners to remove barriers and promote student success.
