Join us. ## Job Description **AECOM** is seeking an **Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Engineer** to be based in **Minneapolis, Minnesota**. This position offers opportunities to work on exciting, challenging, and high-profile ITS and emerging technology projects. This position will assist with a wide range of ITS related projects, including research, planning, design, and deployment of ITS and emerging technologies, including connected and automated vehicle technologies. **Job Responsibilities** - Works as part of a team and works independently in evaluating and applying ITS principles, standards, and criteria. - Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. - Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. - Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tasks. - Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered. - Identifies discrepancies in results. - Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision. ## Qualifications **Minimum Requirements:** - Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. - Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Minnesota or ability to obtain license within two years. **Preferred Qualifications:** - 2+ years of experience in ITS and technology applications in transportation. - Experience in ITS and TSMO planning, systems engineering analysis, connected and automated vehicle technology, and smart mobility solutions. - Experience with fiber and wireless network, CCTV, DMS, and traffic signal design. - Experience in traffic engineering, traffic signal operations, timing, and system performance. - Experience in developing plan sheets, specifications & estimates, technical memoranda, reports, presentations and other project documentation. - Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external clients. ## Additional Information At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously. ***To support this commitment, all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.*** **About AECOM** AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
