### Alleghany Highlands Community Services provides services and support to individuals in our community with behavioral health challenges and intellectual and developmental disabilities. The position involves face to face assessments of individuals in crisis and determining the least restrictive treatment option. The position will work closely with law enforcement, magistrates, private providers, hospital medical staff and other community stakeholders. You will be joining a team of Mental Health Professionals working to make a difference to those experiencing an emotional crisis. The Intake/Emergency Services Clinician will serve a dual role within the Emergency Services Unit. The primary function will be to complete intakes and assessments on individuals referred to the agency for mental health or substance abuse services. They will assure the individuals follow through with recommended services through follow up calls and letters to assist the individual in engaging in services. They will provide Motivational Enhancement Therapy in a group setting to newly admitted individuals to develop their readiness for services and change. They will participate in treatment team meetings with psychiatrist and other services team members. The secondary function will be to serve the Emergency Services Unit by providing face-to-face and telephone crisis intervention and brief crisis counseling to clients in need of acute mental health attention. This includes hospital preadmission screening to safeguard the rights and well-being of all Alleghany Highlands Community Services clients. **REQUIREMENTS** - Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology (required) - One year experience working with individuals with a MH/SUD diagnosis (required) - LPC, LCSW, LCP or Licensed Eligible (required) - Valid Driver's License **RESPONSIBILITIES** - Conduct face-to-face pre-hospitalization screening, securing psychiatric bed space as appropriate - Provide crisis intervention to clients and their families, either by telephone or in person - Provide diagnostic evaluations and assessments to determine level of treatment and/or referrals to other community-based services **BENEFITS** - Pension, Retirement Matching, Health/Dental/Vision Insurance, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, Life Insurance, Educational Assistance $1,500 Sign-On Bonus for Virginia licensed eligible LCSWs and LPCs. | $3,000 Sign-On Bonus for Virginia licensed LCSWs and LPCs. \*Paid according to AHCS policy. ### Benefits Virginia Retirement, Life Insurance, Health/Dental Insurance, Paid Holidays, PTO leave, and Educational Assistance, Sign-on Bonus
